Thick, weed-free fenced backyard lawn in Saginaw TX after a Watson fertilization program

Weed Control & Fertilization

A personalized turf management program that gets rid of the weeds and grows a lawn thick enough to keep them out.

Say goodbye to weeds

We are a team of dedicated weed and fertilization specialists. Instead of a one-size program, we look at your grass type, sun and shade, soil and irrigation, then build a schedule that fixes what is actually wrong with your lawn.

  • Pre-emergent applications in late winter and fall to stop crabgrass, poa annua and henbit before they sprout
  • Post-emergent weed control for dandelions, clover, dallisgrass and nutsedge
  • Slow-release fertilization timed to Bermuda and St. Augustine growth cycles
  • Fungus and insect treatments for brown patch, grubs and chinch bugs when needed
  • Core aeration to open up compacted clay

Every application is logged and you get a door hanger or text with what we put down and why.

Green corner-lot lawn in North Fort Worth treated by Watson Landscaping

Built for North Texas lawns

Fort Worth summers push past 100 degrees for weeks and our clay soil holds water one day and cracks the next. National programs applied on a calendar date miss the window for pre-emergent and over-fertilize in the heat. We track soil temperature and rainfall for North Fort Worth, Saginaw and Haslet and apply when conditions are right, not when the truck happens to be nearby.

How the program works

  1. Free lawn analysis. We walk the yard, identify the grass and the weeds, and check irrigation coverage.
  2. You get a written plan with the number of visits and the per-visit price. No contract.
  3. We apply on schedule and text you after each visit.
  4. Mid-season check to adjust for how the lawn is responding.

Pair the program with our mowing service so cut height and timing support the treatments.

Lawn Treatments questions

How many treatments per year do I need?

A full program is 6 to 7 visits: pre-emergent in late winter and early fall, fertilization through the growing season, and post-emergent weed control as needed. We adjust for your grass type and how the lawn responds.

When should pre-emergent go down in Fort Worth?

Late February to early March for spring weeds like crabgrass, and again in September for winter weeds like poa annua and henbit. Timing matters more than product, which is why we track soil temperature.

Is it safe for kids and pets?

Yes, once the application has dried, usually within an hour or two. We leave a note on the door with the re-entry time.

Will you treat if I use another mowing company?

Yes. Treatments are available on their own, though customers who bundle mowing and treatments get the best results because we control cut height and timing.

How soon will I see results?

Broadleaf weeds curl within a week or two. A thin lawn usually looks noticeably thicker after the second fertilization. Full recovery of a neglected lawn takes a season.
